Gale beach is located between Albufeira and Armação de Pêra and known as Praia Da Gale. Come to this family-friendly beach to enjoy long walks, explore the rock formations and rockpools, go swimming and watch the sunsets from the terrace of one of the bar/restaurants.

The road leading down to the beach is called Estrada da Gale
There is a fruit stall as you approach the wooden beach walk, selling flat Saturn peaches (Paraguayos - the peaches are the best in the Algarve!) and around 20 other fruits, quite cheaply. The elderly lady who runs the stall will be happy enough to sell you one or two pieces to snack on the beach, but it’s a fantastic idea to leave the supermarket fruit and come and stock up on your fruit from her to take back to your villa! Strawberries and cherries, tomatoes to courgettes, all huge and perfect and ripe.
Beach Activities
Paddle boarding and body boarding are really popular. There is a shack by the entrance to the beach selling these, also surfboards. Learn how to surf or improve your skills at Galé beach and experience surfing culture.

Restaurants
There are a couple of beach restaurants. O’Galeao and Restaurant Praia Da Gale.
O’Galeao is fantastic for seafood. They bring olives, bread and sardinha pâté which is a Portuguese speciality and is well worth a try! They don’t mind you coming in off the beach a little sandy.
The clams are the pick of the day, served in oil, lemon juice and coriander and are the best clams (Almeichas) around (in our opinion!) There is a good selection of ice cream too.
The back has a bar and a serving hatch serving the beach directly, with fresh coffee, alcohol and snacks.
Restaurant Praia Da Gale is a little more ‘fancy’, also fresh seafood of the highest quality and a clean, modern seating area outdoors under some sails for shade.
